After go through my peers posts, and discuss with them, I have to say it is fun to have social media around. Anyway, I get several points to summarize the whole topic.
First, I talked about 47 percent of employers will check you out after receive your resume. 15 percent of chance they will check you inside out if they want to hire you. So, you see, you have to build a Linkedin profile professional and keep your twitter relatively under control. And then I shared about different platform for different industry and different ways to show off yourself. At the end I mentioned the bottom line is protect yourself from moral crisis, lies and inappropriate posts lead you to nowhere. Somehow some posts could lead to appreciation of being creative, but it depends on situations.
I went to Wei Xiong’s blog, he talked about online profile can enhance your employability. And we discussed about cheating on your online profile is not good. You probably get the job, but you are not able to fulfill the task, and you still gonna lose the job.
And I went to Kelly’s blog, she covered one thing I forget to discuss on my post, which is keep improving your Linkedin profile. You can’t just register your account and don’t go there again. I guess after you get online profile, it will follows you forever. Do something to get better, although Linkedin is pretty professional.
Ultimately, I wish to make wrap-up on authentic online profile. Technology is developing much faster than other industry, you have to accept build an online presence is very helpful. Almost everyone is doing business online, what happened online will stay online and offline. You have to take it seriously. [words 298]
